A lawyer turned operator, he ran legal, finance and staff work at the four companies Greg Clark led before they started Crosspoint together.
Matt MacKenzie spent nearly two decades running legal, administrative and staff work at E2open, Mincom, Blue Coat and Symantec, the four companies Greg Clark ran as chief executive. The two later co-founded Crosspoint Capital Partners, a cybersecurity investor with offices in Menlo Park, California, and Boston, Massachusetts, where MacKenzie is a managing partner.
Wilson Sonsini to general counsel
He started as an attorney with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. At E2open, from 2001 to 2009, he was senior vice president of corporate and legal affairs and general counsel, and he stepped in as acting chief financial officer from 2005 to 2006.
Chief of staff at Blue Coat and Symantec
After serving as chief administrative officer and general counsel at Mincom, he became chief of staff and general counsel at Blue Coat Systems in 2012 and stayed through Symantec's purchase of the company in 2016. He then served as Symantec's senior vice president and chief of staff until May 2019.
He holds a B.A. and a J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
