Alan Thompson

Alan Thompson helped set up Temasek's offices in Brazil and Mexico during three years in São Paulo, Brazil, as its managing director for Latin America. He now runs Xora, the Singapore investor's early-stage platform for AI infrastructure, applied AI and industrial companies, as chief executive.

Engineering in South Africa

He spent ten years in South Africa's high-tech sector working on computer design, software and systems engineering and executive management. He holds an MBA, a graduate diploma in engineering and a B.Sc. in electrical engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Before joining Temasek in 2004 he was a partner at Stern Stewart & Co., leading work across Southeast Asia, Australia and South Africa.

Two decades at Temasek

At Temasek he was joint head of emerging technologies, joint head of private equity fund investments and managing director of telecommunications and media. He remains an operating partner on Temasek International's emerging technologies team.
