Ben Sun started two companies, Community Connect and LaunchTime, before co-founding Primary Venture Partners in New York, New York, where he is a partner and co-chief investment officer. Forbes has put him on its Midas List three years in a row.
Consumer platforms built on AI
On Primary's site he argues that "the next great consumer platform shift is here," and he backs founders building AI-native products that become trusted partners in how people live, work and connect. His investments include Coupang, the women's network Chief and the dental technology company Dandy.
Seed investing beyond New York
In February 2026 Primary closed a $625 million fifth fund for seed investing, and he told TechCrunch the firm now backs startups well outside its home city. "The talent, the founder, and the startups are happening everywhere," he said.
