Seed B2B software Munich, Germany

Why watch

A founder before he was an investor, he now backs European AI infrastructure such as Deepslate's voice models and Kontext's agent security.

Julian von Fischer founded a startup and worked in the insurance and healthcare industries before he became an investor, and he is a general partner at 42CAP in Munich, Germany. His recent deals lean toward AI infrastructure built in Europe. "European tech can play in the first league, and Deepslate is proving it," he wrote when 42CAP backed the Berlin, Germany, voice AI company.

Two student ventures and KPMG

He built two ventures as a student, then began his career in consulting at KPMG, focused on financial services. He holds a B.A. from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland and an MSc in business administration from Copenhagen Business School in Denmark.

Voice models, agent security and AI testing

In October 2026 42CAP led the €7.7 million seed round for Deepslate, whose speech-to-speech models handle European languages. Announcing the deal on LinkedIn, he added: "Also on a personal note - finally one step closer to having a voice agent with a Bavarian accent."

A week earlier he shared 42CAP's lead on a $4 million round for Kontext, which he called "the runtime security platform keeping agents in their lane." Kontext checks each action an AI agent takes against its task, identity and security policy before the action runs.

In March 2026 42CAP led a $3.2 million seed round for Galtea, which builds a quality assurance layer for companies deploying generative AI and grew out of research at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center in Barcelona, Spain. The firm's announcement credited him and Pauline Rittstieg on the deal.
