AI roleplay Ex-Salesforce Einstein
Guduguntla wants sales reps to practice every hard call against an AI buyer first, so the real conversation is not their first try.
Sriharsha “Sai” Guduguntla is co-founder and CEO of Hyperbound, a company in San Francisco, California, whose software lets sales reps practice calls against AI buyers modeled on their real customers. He started it with Atul Raghunathan, and the company went through Y Combinator in summer 2023.
From Salesforce Einstein to sales practice
A self-taught full-stack engineer, Guduguntla worked on Salesforce Einstein, the company's AI layer, was a founding engineer at the startup Bloom, and did research at UC Berkeley's RISE Lab. At Hyperbound he applied that background to sales training, with AI bots that play different types of buyers so reps can rehearse cold calls, discovery, and objections before a real meeting.
Practice beyond sales
On the GTM Vault podcast, he described AI roleplay as a way to upskill salespeople, giving them a safe place to practice positioning and value propositions instead of only automating their work. He expects the idea to spread: “AI role play will go mainstream, not just in sales, but also in customer service, customer success, and leadership training.”
