Ryan Neu is co-founder and chief executive of Vendr, a company in Boston, Massachusetts, that helps businesses buy software at fair prices using data from thousands of past purchases. He spent his career in software sales before starting the company in 2018.

Leading Sales at InVision

He sold at SCVNGR, moved into a leadership role at HubSpot, and led enterprise sales at InVision, according to VentureFizz. “I’m a salesperson by trade and by heart,” he told SalesTechStar. “Over the course of the decade, I kept coming back to a nagging question: Why is it so hard to sell a great product?”

Founding Vendr

He founded Vendr in Boston in 2018, and the company joined Y Combinator’s Summer 2019 batch, already profitable, according to Vendr. “We see software sales actually going away because most people are tired of being sold to, they are tired of being persuaded, they want to transact,” he told TechCrunch in 2019. He wanted the company to fund itself. “I can’t imagine looking at the bank account every month and watching it deplete,” he said.

Vendr later raised a $150 million Series B and bought Blissfully, which builds software for managing a company’s SaaS tools. In 2026 it launched Ruth, an AI agent that negotiates software contracts using the company’s pricing data.
