Vendr

Software buying and negotiation service that helps companies purchase and renew SaaS, including AI tools.

7.1/10
Overall Score
Conditional recommend

Vendr is useful when AI tool sprawl has become a procurement problem. The service depends on your willingness to let a third party into the buying process.

Best for

Finance and IT buying teams negotiating multiple AI and SaaS contracts a year.

Not ideal for

A single small tool purchase, or teams that will not share current pricing.

Verdict

Use Vendr when several AI subscriptions are up for buy or renewal and you want a negotiator who sees other deals. You still own the vendor choice and the security review. Skip it for one inexpensive seat, or if policy blocks sharing quotes with an outside buyer.

How it’s used

“It's nice to have Vendr available when we're trying to negotiate contract renewals for various softwares, and their team is responsive and friendly. I also like the layout of their platform and seeing all of our different MSAs in one space. The insight into trends/costs based on what other users are seeing is helpful.”

What people don’t like

“There are often technical issues when trying to log into their homepage, leading us to frequently reach out to support for help accessing Vendr. Additionally, I have occasionally found myself more successful at negotiating discounted renewal rates without their team, which feels like it defeats the whole purpose.”

What people like

“The worst part about negotiating contracts with SaaS vendors is not knowing their pricing. Having a good idea about what the range of prices that they typically charge customers is a huge advantage. Hats off to Vendr for giving their customers this information in as much detail as possible. To top it off, Vendr does the negotiating for you. It saves time and money.”
