ATS HR tech

Why watch

Fichet is building AI recruiting software from Bangkok so agencies and HR teams can match and move candidates without enterprise ATS bloat.

Jeremy Fichet is co-founder and CEO of Manatal, the Bangkok-based AI recruiting ATS and CRM he started with Yassine Bel Mamoun in 2019. A French executive who spent years running e-commerce businesses across Southeast Asia, he is known for pushing AI matching and enrichment into mid-market hiring tools.

From Cdiscount and LivingSocial to Bangkok

Fichet previously founded and ran Cdiscount in Southeast Asia and later served as regional CEO of LivingSocial and Group CEO of Orami. Those operator roles put him inside markets where hiring volume and agency desks matter as much as brand-name enterprise software. In January 2019 he and Bel Mamoun launched Manatal in Bangkok as cloud ATS and recruiting CRM software aimed at agencies and HR teams that needed AI help without buying a giant suite.

Building Manatal as AI recruiting software

Manatal pairs applicant tracking with CRM, social enrichment, and AI recommendation features. In February 2022 the company announced a $5.1 million seed led by Surge (Peak XV), with Fichet arguing that companies should be able to find fitting candidates in minutes rather than through slow manual search. Public materials emphasize global agency and corporate customers and an MCP-style path for talking to the ATS through LLMs.

On making mid-market hiring less manual

In press around the seed, Fichet framed Manatal as software for a world where getting the right hire is decisive. The product story stays on automation of repetitive recruiting work and data-driven shortlists for teams that cannot staff a full enterprise TA stack.
