Brodsky spent years teaching machines to hear audio at Instinctiv and SoundCloud, then co-founded Hyperscience so enterprises could read messy documents with the same kind of machine learning.
Peter Brodsky is co-founder of Hyperscience, a New York company that uses machine learning to extract data from complex enterprise documents. He served as chief executive through the company's early growth, then stepped back from the CEO seat in 2022 while remaining a founder.
Teaching Machines to Listen Before They Could Read
Before Hyperscience he founded Instinctiv, which built audio content identification and recommendation technology and was acquired by SoundCloud in 2012, according to his Forbes Technology Council profile. At SoundCloud he directed engineering work on fingerprinting, genre classification and recommendations. Earlier he built and sold SaySoSoft scientific software used at major research institutions, and he graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University.
Founding Hyperscience Around Document Chaos
He co-founded Hyperscience to apply similar learning systems to handwritten and printed documents that still clog banks, insurers and government agencies. As CEO he pushed a human-centered automation pitch: models that keep improving on messy forms while people handle the exceptions, as described in his Forbes council bio and later aVenture profile.
Handing Off the CEO Seat in 2022
In March 2022 Hyperscience announced that Brodsky had stepped down as CEO and that COO Charlie Newark-French would serve as interim chief executive, according to a Hyperscience newsroom release. Andrew Joiner later became CEO. Brodsky remains listed as a co-founder, and the company continues to sell intelligent document processing into regulated industries from New York.
