Document AI Ex-YouTube
Abraham turned a weekend parsing demo into the document layer that finance and legal AI products rely on to read tables correctly.
Adit Abraham is co-founder and CEO of Reducto, which turns complex documents into structured data for AI applications. He started coding through mobile games. “Games were the thing that drew me to computers and Flappy Bird was what made me interested in programming,” he told First Round Review.
MIT and a freshman TA
At MIT he walked into a graduate machine learning course and found a freshman, Raunak Chowdhuri, leading the first problem set. “It was kind of obscene to be sitting there and see this person who had been doing ML research since he was 12,” he recalled. The two became friends. After MIT, Abraham ran a Shopify plugin startup for a year and then joined YouTube's ads team, where he grew restless.
From Remembrall to Reducto
The pair entered Y Combinator's winter 2024 batch with Remembrall, a memory tool for language models. Users kept asking it to handle their files too, so they built a simple parser. “I can't stress this enough, it was literally a weekend project that we threw together,” he said. Posted on YC's forum, it drew replies asking for a hosted API and a payment link. “The pull was much stronger than everything else we had worked on.”
