Co-founder and CEO
Dovetail
Benjamin Humphrey is co-founder and CEO of Dovetail, the customer-intelligence platform he started in 2017 with Bradley Ayers after leading product design at Atlassian. A Sydney-based designer who grew up in Christchurch, he built Dovetail so teams can centralize interviews, calls, surveys, and feedback into structured, searchable insight.
From Christchurch open source to Atlassian design
On his personal site Humphrey describes growing up in Christchurch, studying computer science at Otago, contributing to the Ubuntu Manual Project, and writing for OMG! Ubuntu! before agency work at Loop and a Silicon Valley stint on Delicious. He joined Atlassian in 2013, led design on Jira Agile and the cloud platform, and watched the company grow through its IPO before leaving to found Dovetail.
Dovetail as a customer intelligence platform
With Ayers he started Dovetail on the belief that great products come from teams who listen continuously. What began as diary-study tooling became a multi-product platform used by thousands of organizations, including large enterprises, with offices in Sydney and San Francisco.
