Formbricks

7.4/10
Overall Score
Conditional recommend

Formbricks is a strong pick for organizations that must keep survey and feedback data on their own infrastructure, though it asks for more setup than hosted form builders.

Best for

Product teams, public agencies, banks, and healthcare groups in Europe that need surveys and customer feedback analysis under their own control, and that have engineers to self-host.

Not ideal for

Small teams that want a hosted form builder they can start using in minutes, and buyers with no engineers to run their own servers.

Verdict

Formbricks gives teams a free, open-source survey platform they can host themselves and an Experience Suite that adds AI analysis of open-text feedback, workflows, and single sign-on. Its data-ownership story is the strongest in this category, backed by ISO 27001 certification and a SOC 2 Type II report. A managed cloud is still listed as coming soon, so for now buyers run it on their own servers. We recommend it for privacy-driven buyers and less so for teams that want a quick hosted form tool.

Review Excerpts

These excerpts come from customer quotes Formbricks publishes on its site, which the company chose, and from the buyer concern we found in its pricing and public discussion. Paid reviews and pay-for-play sites were excluded.

How it's used

“Self-hosting makes us faster. Because we work on a project basis with various ministries, it is our responsibility to respect their rigorous standards for data protection.”

Joshua Nowak, User Researcher at DigitalService, in a quote on Formbricks' site · Formbricks
What people like

“The rule with Formbricks was simple: do the integration once, and then leave it. My engineering team spent about 15 days getting everything set up, and since then marketing has been completely self-sufficient.”

Srihari Udugani, Director of Technology at Borderless Access, in a quote on Formbricks' site · Formbricks
What people don't like

“The open-source edition was easy to stand up, but when we wanted AI analysis we had to book a call to get a price, and we still could not get a hosted option.”
