Open-source surveys Engineering leadership
Nannt wrote the first code behind Formbricks, the open-source survey platform that organizations self-host when feedback data must stay on their own servers.
“It was quite a journey since Matti wrote the first line of code in July last year,” his co-founder wrote in 2023 of Matti Nannt's start on Formbricks. Nannt co-founded the Kiel, Germany company, whose open-source platform runs surveys and analyzes feedback on a company's own infrastructure.
An Open-Source Survey Tool
Before Formbricks, Nannt had built an open-source survey tool on his own. That project led Johannes Dancker to contact him and suggest building a side project together, according to the Formbricks blog.
From snoopForms to Formbricks
Nannt wrote the first line of code in July 2022 for snoopForms, the open-source Typeform alternative that became the pair's first product. After testing other ideas, the two turned the work into Formbricks, an open-source experience management platform.
Building for Self-Hosting
Formbricks runs the same software image in its own cloud and on customers' servers, and the company holds ISO 27001 certification with a SOC 2 Type II report on request. More than 15,000 teams use it, the company says.
