Primary Venture Partners
Primary Venture Partners is a seed-stage venture firm that started in New York, New York, and now invests across the United States. In February 2026 it closed a $625 million fifth fund focused on seed investing, and co-founder Ben Sun told TechCrunch the average check from that fund would be $5 million to $10 million. The firm has $1.65 billion under management.
Primary calls itself a generalist, but its partners specialize in areas including vertical AI, enterprise software, cybersecurity and infrastructure. Its earlier investments include the AI chip company Etched. Partner Brian Schechter led the firm's 2026 seed investment in TeRAM, a memory chip company.
