Mlejnsky and his high school friend Tomas turned a developer tools side project into E2B, which runs isolated cloud machines for AI agents and reports more than 2 billion sandboxes started.
Vasek Mlejnsky is co-founder and CEO of E2B, which gives each AI agent session its own isolated cloud machine for running code, using a browser, or driving a desktop.
Growing Up in Uherské Hradiště
He grew up in Uherské Hradiště, a small town in the Czech Republic, he told Decibel. His first computer was his father's IBM laptop, which he mostly used to get Doom and Prince of Persia running. For most of his childhood he was more interested in animal medicine and physics than computers, and he spent summers helping at his father's veterinary clinic, assisting at surgeries.
Teaming Up With a High School Friend
He met his co-founder Tomas at the start of high school. They bonded over board games and Eve Online, then learned Python together and moved on to building iPhone games with Unity and C#. Realizing their interest was developer tools, they spent summer-long hackathons building them. They worked on a product called Devbook before pivoting to E2B in early 2023.
Building a Cloud for Agents
In the Decibel interview he said E2B went from 20,000 sandboxes created in April to 2 million in September, with Hugging Face and LMArena among its users. E2B's site now reports more than 2 billion sandboxes run and sign-ups at 94 of the Fortune 100.
