Verkooij ran product for Adyen's in-house billing engine and now sells that kind of system to companies whose pricing mixes seats, usage, and custom contracts.
Kim Verkooij is co-founder and CEO of Solvimon, a billing and monetization platform based in Utrecht, the Netherlands. He founded it with Etienne Gerts, who serves as chief technology officer.
Owning Billing at Adyen
As vice president of product at Adyen, he had full ownership of the payments company's home-grown billing platform and oversaw its quote-to-cash process, according to Solvimon's about page. The role covered international taxation, revenue assurance, and sales compensation inside a fast-growing business. Gerts was part of Adyen's founding team and worked on the same billing engine during his 13 years there.
Starting Solvimon with Etienne Gerts
The two left to build billing for companies moving to usage-based and hybrid pricing, a shift they saw speeding up with AI. In a 2023 company announcement, he said businesses were stuck choosing between patched-together point tools and slow, costly homegrown builds. Solvimon covers the whole flow, from deal terms set by sales to revenue reporting by finance.
