Co-founder and CEO · Intezer

AI SOC IDF CERT alum

Why watch

Tevet is building Intezer so security teams can have every alert investigated, down to the code behind it, without adding analysts.

Itai Tevet is co-founder and CEO of Intezer, a company with offices in New York and Tel Aviv, Israel, that makes AI software to triage and investigate security alerts. He started it in 2015 with Roy Halevi, now chief technology officer, and Alon Cohen, a founder of CyberArk.

Running the IDF's incident response team

From 2012 to 2015 Tevet led the Israel Defense Forces' computer emergency response team. “It was absolutely very stressful, dealing with the sheer volume that we did, but I had people who I trusted and there was no challenge that we couldn’t mitigate,” he said in an Intezer founder profile. By the end of his service he knew he would start a company. “It was very clear for me in my last years of service that I wanted to create a company,” he said.

From malware genes to an AI SOC

Intezer started with what it calls code DNA mapping, which compares the code in a file against code seen before so analysts can tell where malware came from. It later used that forensic work to build a product that investigates alerts on its own. “I know what it's like to work in SOC and incident response teams, while every day you have too much work, too many alerts, and not enough people,” Tevet said in a 2024 company announcement.

He expects analysts' jobs to shift toward checking the AI's work. “Analysts become supervisors - they verify the AI is doing the right work, that it's not straying off course, give it fine-tuning. Instead of putting out fires all day, they can finally think,” he told Calcalist's Ctech.
