Browser agents Unit 8200 alum
Raman is building Anchor so AI agents can finish the last step of enterprise work on old portals and logged-in websites that were never built for software to use.
Idan Raman is co-founder and CEO of Anchor Browser, a company in Tel Aviv, Israel, that runs cloud browsers for AI agents. He started it in October 2024 with Dor Dankner, chief technology officer, and Guy Ben Simhon, who leads product. All three are graduates of the Israeli military's 8200 intelligence unit, and they came to Anchor from SentinelOne, Noname Security, and BlinkOps, Globes reported.
The last mile of automation
Raman describes Anchor's work as the last mile of enterprise automation. A process such as customer identity checks can be almost fully automated and still stall on a government portal that has no API. “The web was never built for machines,” he told Blumberg Capital. “Someone has to build the bridge if AI is going to join the workforce.”
A fork of Chrome
Rather than compete on features that he expects to become cheap, Raman pushed the team to build its own version of Chromium. On the Business AI Explained podcast he said they changed more than 100,000 lines of code to make it reliable and safe for agents. “We go about by that saying of if it's hard, it's good,” he said.
