Product design AI-native CRM

Why watch

Liriani is one of the few AI founders with a design background, and he is bringing the design-first habits that built Tome to a CRM category known for clunky software.

Henri Liriani is co-founder of Lightfield, the AI-native CRM that grew out of Tome, the presentation app he started with Keith Peiris in 2020. He was Tome's chief product officer and leads with design.

Design Firms, a Music Startup, and Messenger

Liriani began his career at design firms and co-founded a music sharing startup before spending six years in product design at Meta, Greylock's Heather Mack noted when he joined the Greymatter podcast in January 2023. At Meta he was product lead for the Messenger human interface group.

A Daily Critique at Tome

At Tome, he said, the company went about 18 months without a product manager, with designers who prototyped close to code and wrote the specs engineers built from. “We've decided we want design to be at the beginning of every product thought process,” he said, “and we do an hour critique every day that manifests that.”

He argued that UI and UX work had merged as tools improved, and that “having all of that thinking under one roof produces better product outcomes.”

Into the CRM Market

Liriani moved with Peiris when Tome became Lightfield, which Upstarts reported in September 2026 had raised a $47 million Series A led by a16z, with Greylock among the returning investors.
