Shahram Anver is co-founder and CEO of Cleric, which builds an AI site reliability engineer. Before Cleric he led engineering for the MLOps, DevOps, and FinOps platforms at Gojek, the Indonesian ride-hailing and payments app.

From Gojek to Cleric

“My last role was running the ML platform at Gojek,” he said in a Cleric webinar. “That's really what inspired me.” He co-founded Cleric with Willem Pienaar, creator of the Feast feature store, whom he had known for a decade. Both had built and sold companies before.

He told Cerebral Valley that both founders had spent years where infrastructure meets machine learning. “When we saw advances in LLMs and agentic workflows, we realized the technology was finally ready to tackle infrastructure complexity,” he said. “We started Cleric because we believe engineers want to build software, not spend their nights and weekends fighting production fires.”
