Guldener grew a Zurich fleet software company to more than 1,000 customers, then started Nango after seeing how hard product integrations were to build, and it now runs integrations for Replit, Mercor, and Ramp.
Robin Guldener is co-founder and CEO of Nango, an open-source integrations platform from Y Combinator's Winter 2023 batch that handles API sign-in, syncs, webhooks, and agent tool calls across more than 1,000 APIs.
Studying at ETH Zurich
Guldener holds a B.Sc. in computer science from ETH Zurich, according to verve.vc.
Managing Company Cars at Avrios
He co-founded Avrios, a fleet management software company in Zurich, Switzerland, and was its chief product officer from 2015 to 2020, Web Zürich notes. In his verve.vc interview he said Avrios's main competitor was Excel, and that one new client discovered it had 280 vehicles instead of the 250 it thought it owned. His Y Combinator profile says he grew Avrios to more than 1,000 customers.
Starting Nango as an OAuth Handler
Guldener started Nango after seeing firsthand how hard it was to build product integrations between SaaS tools, working with co-founder Bastien Beurier, a two-time Y Combinator founder and former Uber engineer. Nango launched as an open-source OAuth handler for 40 APIs and has grown into a platform for auth, syncs, webhooks, and tool calls. The company says more than ten thousand engineering teams have used it.
