Thompson led design on Jira at Atlassian and co-founded Iteratively, which Amplitude acquired, before starting Clarify, a CRM that fills itself in from email, calendar, and calls.
Patrick Thompson is co-founder and CEO of Clarify, a Seattle, Washington, company founded in 2024 that builds an autonomous CRM, capturing calls, enriching contacts, creating deals, and assigning tasks with AI.
Designing Jira at Atlassian
In 2018 Thompson was a design team lead at Atlassian in Sydney, Australia, working on Jira Software so software teams could build better experiences for their customers, according to UX Australia.
Starting Iteratively
He then co-founded Iteratively, a data tooling startup that Amplitude acquired in 2021. He told GeekWire that lessons from Iteratively shaped Clarify's approach. His Clarify co-founders are Ondrej Hrebicek, Iteratively's former CTO, and Austin Hay, a former Iteratively customer.
Rebuilding the CRM in Seattle, Washington
Thompson argues that most CRMs bolt AI onto old designs, while Clarify was rebuilt around what he calls ambient AI, which logs calls, enriches contacts, creates deals, and assigns tasks on its own. Clarify says on its website that it is trusted by more than 8,000 go-to-market teams. "We really want to build a generational company," Thompson told GeekWire.
