Oskar Block
Co-founder and CEO
Stilta
Oskar Block is co-founder and CEO of Stilta, a Stockholm company building agentic AI for high-stakes patent work. With three fellow QuantumBlack alumni he raised a $10.5 million seed led by Andreessen Horowitz after a YC Winter 2026 batch, aiming at invalidity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate analysis that stays source-backed and auditable.
Early ML companies and McKinsey
Stilta's YC profile says Block started his first company building machine learning models for sports betting at 18, later bootstrapped another past $1 million in revenue and 25,000 monthly active users, and worked at McKinsey, Goldman Sachs, and two Swedish unicorns. The four founders met while building and deploying AI systems for large organizations at McKinsey's QuantumBlack unit, then picked intellectual property as a domain where trust and citations matter as much as speed.
Agent swarms for patent litigation
In a LawSites briefing, Block showed agents searching across what Stilta describes as hundreds of millions of patents and scientific papers plus archived web pages, then mapping prior art onto claim charts. The company says customers already include large corporates and major IP firms across the US and Europe. Public competitors in the same litigation-adjacent lane include Patlytics and Solve Intelligence; Block has positioned Stilta as starting where accuracy demands are highest.
On an IP operating system
Longer term he has said Stilta wants to expand from litigation into adjacent IP workflows and become a full operating system for corporate IP teams and law firms. Starting in litigation, in his telling, makes later lower-stakes workflows easier because the product already has to earn trust when a wrong prior-art read can cost billions. That source-cited agent thesis is the watch reason while the category is still early.
