Compliance Security
Galis turned the audit pile he saw at EY into Scytale, so startups can run security compliance as ongoing software instead of a quarterly fire drill.
Meiran Galis is founder and CEO of Scytale, the security-compliance automation company he launched in 2021. An information-systems graduate who audited technology companies at EY, he is known for turning a compliance blog and early consulting into a platform that later acquired AudITech.
Airport security, military service, and EY technology risk
Galis studied information systems at the Academic College of Tel Aviv-Yaffo and worked through airport security and military service before joining EY's technology risk practice. As a junior auditor he collected logs, tickets, and screenshots for SOC 2-style work, then traveled to the United States for early independent audit assignments. That view of startups treating audits like fire drills shaped the problem he later productized.
From weekend blog to Scytale
He began by writing an educational compliance blog, then turned audience and consulting demand into Scytale. In a Bright Founders Talk interview he said he saw a hurdle in how compliance was traditionally handled and believed there had to be a simpler, more automated way. Scytale grew from an empty office and an early inbound customer into a distributed company that combines automation with optional readiness consulting; in 2025 it acquired SOX-automation specialist AudITech.
On leadership and listening
On that podcast he argued that listening deeply and helping people as individuals sits at the core of good leadership, and that curiosity - asking the right questions around smarter colleagues - mattered more than feeling fully ready on day one at EY.
