Kevin Jacyna is co-founder and chief product officer of Circleback, a San Francisco AI notetaker that writes meeting notes, tracks action items, and sends follow-ups automatically. He started the company in 2023 with Ali Haghani.
From Junior A Goaltender to Tableau
Before software, Jacyna played Junior A hockey in Canada, his Y Combinator profile notes, and hockey records list him as a goaltender for the Calgary Mustangs of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
After the University of British Columbia, he became a senior software engineer at Tableau, where he worked on bringing predictive analytics into the product and on compatibility between Tableau's desktop and web versions, according to the same profile.
Building Circleback
UBC's computer science department wrote in 2024 that the two founders spotted the problem after sitting through many meetings in their first jobs, and settled on AI as an expert notetaker and meeting facilitator. Jacyna leads product for the company, whose notetaker now covers search across past meetings and automations that send meeting details into tools like Linear, HubSpot, and Notion.
