Eoghan McCabe

Eoghan McCabe is co-founder and CEO of Intercom, the customer-messaging company he started in 2011 and returned to lead in 2022. Under his second chapter as CEO the company made Fin, its AI agent, the commercial center of gravity — and in 2026 rebranded the corporate entity as Fin while keeping Intercom as the help-desk product name.

Founding Intercom and the first CEO chapter

McCabe co-founded Intercom in Dublin to rethink how software companies talked to customers inside the product. He led the company through its rise as a messaging and help-desk platform, then stepped into a chairman role in 2020 before the board brought him back as CEO in 2022.

Fin-first Intercom

On his return he wrote publicly about focusing the company on AI that resolves support, not only assists agents. Fin became Intercom's flagship agent product; by May 2026 McCabe announced that the company itself would take the Fin name while Intercom remained the desk product customers already knew.
