Schulman sold his anti-phishing company Segasec to Mimecast in 2020, and he now runs Lasso Security, which watches and blocks risky behavior by AI agents and apps inside large companies.
Elad Schulman is co-founder and CEO of Lasso Security, a Tel Aviv, Israel, company founded in 2023 that finds the AI tools and agents in use across a company and blocks harmful requests and actions as they happen.
Founding Segasec in Israel
He co-founded Segasec, which used machine learning to spot fake websites and domains that attackers set up to steal customers' and employees' credentials. Mimecast, the email security company, bought Segasec in January 2020, according to a Mimecast press release.
Protecting Brands at Mimecast
After the sale he served as Mimecast's VP of brand protection, focused on stopping phishing attacks aimed at organizations' customers, his SANS Institute profile says. He also invests in and mentors early-stage startups.
Starting Lasso Security in 2023
He started Lasso in 2023 with Ophir Dror, Lior Ziv and Yuval Abadi, CTech reported. The founders saw security as the biggest obstacle to companies putting large language models to work, the Lasso team page says. Lasso now runs inside customer environments in financial services, insurance and the U.S. federal government, and it has built guardrails that run on standard CPUs.
