Chase McGee is founder and chief executive of Focus Digital, a search marketing agency in Greensboro, North Carolina, that sells search engine optimization (SEO) and AI search work to small and medium-sized businesses. He founded it in 2018.

Running Marketing Campaigns Before Focus Digital

Before starting Focus Digital, McGee led six- and seven-figure marketing campaigns for e-commerce, restaurant, medical and professional services companies, according to the company. He also co-founded a software company in the automotive industry, where he helped car dealerships improve their marketing and internet sales process.

Building Focus Digital in Greensboro

He started Focus Digital to offer expert-level SEO at prices small businesses could afford. Each campaign begins with a strategic plan listing about 50 revenue-driving keywords, a content plan for each, conversion recommendations and a technical review of the site, and the firm's writers then produce the pages. Clients include healthcare and home service companies, restaurants, other marketing firms and midsize manufacturers, and the company says McGee is involved in every client campaign.

In a 2025 interview published by Reuben Rink, an agency where he is a strategic partner, McGee described SEO as "the art of producing the best piece of website content for every commercially valuable keyword." He said his campaigns usually aim to break even between the fourth and sixth month and reach peak return in the third year. "SEO, like many investments, returns slowly, then all at once," he said.
