Data migration Financial services
Truong is making bank data migrations something business analysts can run, and making the logic buried in mainframe code explainable.
Caitlyn Truong is co-founder and CEO of Zengines, an AI data platform for financial services that she founded in 2020. She trained in electrical and computer engineering and spent more than 20 years in data, strategy, and technology, including leadership roles at Accenture, PwC Strategy& (Booz & Company), and Deloitte, advising executives on AI, automation, and modernization.
From consulting to Zengines
In consulting she kept seeing data conversion and migration stall large projects, especially at financial institutions, as she described on The Disruptor Series podcast. Zengines began as an AI-driven migration platform meant to let business analysts run complex conversions without waiting on scarce specialists. Working inside large banks, the team found clients stuck on “black box” mainframe systems, which led to its second product, Contextual Data Lineage, which reads the business rules inside legacy code.
Her view of AI readiness is plain. “The institutions that win with AI aren't the ones with the most ambitious models,” her Zengines profile reads, “they're the ones who did the unglamorous work on their data.” In 2025 she won an Info-Tech Women Leading IT Award.
