Stempeck joined The Trade Desk as its eighth employee and helped take it public, and he now runs Evertune, which samples each prompt 100 times to measure how AI models present a brand.
Brian Stempeck is co-founder and CEO of Evertune, a New York company founded in 2024 that measures how AI models describe brands and helps marketers act on the results through content and ads.
Joining The Trade Desk as Employee Number 8
He joined The Trade Desk when it had seven people, looking for a startup where he could try many roles, he told Built In LA in 2019. He knew little about online advertising at the time, but he hit it off with the co-founders after a friend introduced them.
Leading Strategy at The Trade Desk
He was promoted twice, moved from the company's New York office to Los Angeles, and became its first chief strategy officer and a member of its board. In that role he worked on the Connected TV business and managed sales, partnerships and technical account teams. Evertune calls him the company's first commercial executive, part of the early team that grew it into a $50 billion company and took it public.
Starting Evertune in 2024
He started Evertune with Ed Chater, who had led Connected TV advertising at The Trade Desk, and Poul Costinsky, an AI engineer who had worked at Microsoft, Meta and The Trade Desk. He argues that AI search is a different marketing channel and not simply the next version of search engine optimization, a point he made on The Current's The Build podcast.
Personal Life
Like many of his former colleagues in the Los Angeles office, he loves surfing, Built In LA reported.
