Why watch

Hollingsworth and his brother ran an executive assistant agency for six or seven years before building Fyxer, an AI assistant for email and meetings. As chief revenue officer he sells it on a simple pitch: an assistant for about a dollar a day.

Archie Hollingsworth is co-founder and chief revenue officer of Fyxer, which sorts email, drafts replies and takes meeting notes. He founded it with his brother Richard Hollingsworth, the chief executive, and Matt Ffrench.

Leaving the Family Farm

The brothers grew up on a farm, but the slow pace of agricultural life was not for them, according to SaaS Club. They saw technology as the opposite, with fast feedback and results within their control. Together they built what SaaS Club calls the UK's largest executive assistant agency.

Six Years of Running an Assistant Agency

Hollingsworth recommends a services business as a first step. Founders who try to start a fast-growing tech company straight out of college often fail and burn out, he said on the Reed podcast in 2025, while a services company "just can't grow as fast." Over six or seven years the agency introduced the brothers to thousands of people, and some became early Fyxer hires. "Rich and I ran a services company ourselves before starting Fixer AI," he said, using the company's spoken spelling. He has described a four-step path from selling time for money, to services, to productized services and finally to products, on The Prepared Seller.

Closing a Deal Before HF0 Demo Day

Fyxer went through HF0, the San Francisco accelerator where founders live together in a large residence. Two weeks before demo day, a large real estate brokerage that already had staff using Fyxer showed interest in rolling it out. Hollingsworth asked the head of HF0 whether he should offer to visit, and was told: "you just don't ask, you just go." He sent an email saying he would be in Washington state the next day and ready for a deal.

He pitches Fyxer as a way to bring assistants to people who could never afford one. "It's a dollar a day to have an assistant," he said.

Inside the company, he said, the founders tell new staff "we're willing to do the jobs that other people aren't." He also credits a lesson from the first business: "making sure that you're having a good amount of fun during it."
