Vantage

Cloud cost platform used to attribute spend, including GPU and model-API line items, back to teams and products.

7.3/10
Overall Score
Conditional recommend

Vantage is useful once AI spend is large enough to hide inside a cloud bill. It is a cost system, so the value depends on clean account and tagging hygiene.

Best for

Platform and finance teams that need GPU and model-API spend tied to owners.

Not ideal for

Teams whose AI bill is still a few API keys, or groups that will not tag accounts.

Verdict

Use Vantage when AI infrastructure and API invoices are material and you need a place to assign them. The product pays off after tags, accounts, and commitments are wired. It will not invent unit economics from an unmarked bill. Skip it until spend is large enough that a monthly export is no longer enough.

How it’s used

“We've been using Vantage for a few months now and it's a really great layer on top of the AWS console. I particularly like the correlation of the metrics right in the dashboard - makes light-weight DevOps real easy.”

What people like

“Within 30 seconds of signing up for Vantage I discovered an old unused EC2 instance I was still paying $17/month for. This made me realize how weirdly hard it is to see a usable cost breakdown by resource on AWS...converted :)”

What people like

“This thing is pretty damn straightforward and simple (which is good), and TIL from Vantage that I've been using the wrong volume type - gp3 is better and would save me money. I feel dumb not knowing, but now Vantage made me a little smarter. ;-) Three cheers for the cost savings recommendations!”

What people don’t like

“I was a bit whelmed when I used it. I expeced an alternative to the AWS console, but got a monitoring dashboard. Didn't seem like I could do much with it besides looking at my resources.”
