Mayfield is a venture firm that describes itself as the first institutional investor for early-stage AI founders. It says 70% of its investments begin at the founding of a company and that it has $3 billion invested in AI. Its track record includes HashiCorp, Poshmark and Lyft.
In 2026 Mayfield led the first seed round for Hang Ten Systems, the AI-native systems integration company founded by former Infosys chief executive Vishal Sikka, and joined the company's second seed round five weeks later.
