Why watch She is the Spark growth partner who led Anthropic's Series C, after growing up in Tehran and working on Snap's monetization.

Yasmin Razavi is a general partner on Spark Capital's growth team. She grew up in Tehran, Iran, studied engineering at the University of Toronto, and later earned an MBA from Harvard Business School. Before Spark she was a consultant at McKinsey & Company, an investor at Index Ventures in London, United Kingdom, and a product manager at Snap Inc. working on the app's monetization stack. Spark's site frames her focus as go-to-market after product-market fit: helping founders "out-execute their competitors in their act one, and think through and capitalize on their act two and three."

Leading Anthropic's Series C

In May 2023 she led Anthropic's Series C for Spark with a check covered in contemporaneous reporting as about $75 million inside a $450 million round, at a valuation of roughly $4 billion. In a Spark Medium post announcing the investment she wrote about Anthropic's safety research, including Constitutional AI, and about LLMs as a Kuhnian break from incremental "normal science." The Wall Street Journal reported in 2026 that Spark's Anthropic stake was then worth about $7 billion—before any public-market price. Anthropic later raised at far higher private marks, and Reuters reported IPO marketing could begin as early as mid-October 2026.

Beyond the Anthropic mark

Razavi's earlier Spark work includes leading Cruise's Series A in 2015 (acquired by General Motors in 2016) and Discord's Series C in 2016. Spark has stayed active in AI infrastructure more recently, including co-leading Baseten's large 2026 round. If Anthropic lists in the window Reuters described, that would put a public-market price on the Series C she led for the first time.
