CoreWeave
Michael Intrator is co-founder, chairman, and CEO of CoreWeave, the GPU cloud that went public in 2025 after pivoting from crypto mining into AI infrastructure. A former commodities and environmental-markets investor, he has spent the company's life arguing that AI needs specialized clouds, not generic hyperscaler leftovers.
From energy markets to a GPU fleet
Intrator's earlier career ran through Natsource and Hudson Ridge Asset Management, where he worked natural-gas and environmental markets. With partners Brian Venturo and Brannin McBee he built what became CoreWeave from a crypto-mining operation that could buy GPUs when others would not, then rename and reposition the fleet for rendering and, soon after, AI.
Making CoreWeave an AI cloud
As CEO he steered early AI customers — including research and foundation-model teams — onto large Nvidia clusters and raised capital to keep buying H100-class capacity ahead of demand. CoreWeave's 2025 IPO put that specialized-cloud thesis on public markets, with Intrator remaining chairman and chief executive.
