PromptLayer
Jared Zoneraich is co-founder and CEO of PromptLayer, a platform for prompt management, evaluations, and collaborative LLM app development. He started the company with Jonathan Pedoeem after building a personal prompt tracker that strangers on the internet wanted too.
A prompt tracker that escaped the lab
Zoneraich and Pedoeem were experimenting with chatbots and needed somewhere to version prompts and compare outputs. They put a rough tool online; usage arrived before they had planned a company. In a TechCrunch seed story, Zoneraich recounts shipping that MVP "on a whim" and then keeping build because the workflow stuck.
Seed round and the non-engineer seat
In February 2025 PromptLayer raised a $4.8M seed led by Ivan Bercovich, with angels across AI ops and product. Zoneraich said the capital would hire engineers and widen use cases while investing in community. The product pitch is unusually explicit about putting non-technical teammates in the driver's seat of prompt and agent iteration, not only logging calls for developers.
On reliability for production LLM apps
In a Techstrong TV interview he frames the company around reliability for production LLM apps - the unglamorous work of knowing which prompt shipped, what it did, and whether a change helped. That ops language sits behind the friendlier collaboration UI.
