Hoa Mai is co-founder of Feather Robotics, an East Palo Alto company building modular humanoid hardware for developers. TechCrunch reports that after selling a previous humanoid startup to 1X, Mai teamed up in 2025 with Parsa Bakhtiari, a former Tesla Model 3 engineer, to build what they call an Android of robotics.
