Buu Nguyen is the founder of Visily, an AI UI design tool for people who are not trained designers. Visily launched as a KMS Technology company, part of the Atlanta, Georgia, software group that also started Katalon and Kobiton.
Building a Mockup Tool for Software Makers
Nguyen was a software developer who wanted to design user interfaces and found mockup software too complex. "I created Visily to solve my own problem and, hopefully, other software makers' too," he said in a Visily press release, describing a tool meant to let anyone who wants to design software mockups do it.
Releasing Version 1 After a Six-Month Beta
Visily released version 1 in April 2022 after a six-month beta. It added real-time multi-user editing, prebuilt web and mobile templates, and screenshot-to-design, which converts an app or website screenshot into an editable mockup, and it passed 10,000 users that month.
