Rotem spent years migrating huge telecom billing systems before co-founding K2view, and his idea that company data should be organized around each customer or other business entity runs through its Data Product Platform.
Achi Rotem is co-founder and president of K2view, a data management company based in Yokneam, Israel, whose software assembles, masks and delivers enterprise data, including synthetic test data for software teams. He co-founded it in 2009 with Rafi Cohen and has served as its chief technology officer, its chief executive and, since late 2023, its president.
Migrating Telecom Billing at Amdocs
Before K2view, Rotem worked inside the systems that run telecom carriers. At TTI Team Telecom International he was an assistant vice president and chief solutions architect, turning carrier requirements into very large enterprise software, and at Amdocs he led major billing and customer-system migrations, including the one that followed the Sprint-Nextel merger, according to his DevCon speaker biography.
Co-founding K2view With Rafi Cohen
He and Cohen founded K2view in 2009, and Rotem served as chief technology officer until 2020. In talks such as a 2021 DevCon session on data fabric, he has argued that managing data around a business entity, such as a single customer, simplifies how companies combine, transform and deliver records that are scattered across many older systems.
Leading K2view as CEO
He became chief executive in 2020. Under his leadership the company developed its flagship Data Product Platform, which Gartner rated a Visionary in its Magic Quadrant for Data Integration Tools, and the platform became the operational data backbone for some of the largest enterprises in the world, according to the December 2023 announcement of his successor. That announcement made Ronen Schwartz, a former NetApp and Informatica executive, chief executive and moved Rotem to president. Rotem said Schwartz had "all the attributes we looked for in a CEO."
