You Mon Tsang
Founder and CEO · ChurnZero
Customer success Serial founder
Tsang believes the future of customer growth will run on AI agents that handle the follow-through, leaving people free to build trust with customers, and ChurnZero's new Kit assistant is his bet on that idea.
“Once you become an entrepreneur, the whole starting process, that creativity around that, the energy around that is something that you want to see over and over again,” You Mon Tsang told the Churn.FM podcast. He is the founder and CEO of ChurnZero, a Washington, D.C. customer success platform, and the company is the fourth software business he has founded.
From Urban Planning to Software
Tsang started his career as an urban planner. He told Churn.FM that planning can take decades to show results, and that he was too impatient for it, so he moved into technology, where work shows an impact within weeks. He later worked at Oracle and Xerox before starting his first company, a browser extension built in the early days of Netscape.
Biz360, Engine140, and Vocus
Tsang's earlier companies include Biz360 and Engine140, which helped users find the people worth following on social media. Engine140 was sold to Vocus, where he became chief marketing officer and later ran the OutMarket marketing automation unit, according to the Uncharted Podcast.
Starting ChurnZero
He co-founded ChurnZero with Mark Heys in 2015. The company is remote-first, with headquarters in Washington, D.C., and Amsterdam, Netherlands, and it has launched Kit, an AI assistant for customer success teams. Tsang told the Customer Success Network that ChurnZero is the heaviest user of its own CS AI tools.
