Mohak Sharma
Co-founder and CEO
HoneyHive
Mohak Sharma is co-founder and CEO of HoneyHive, an evaluation and observability platform for AI agents. With cofounder Dhruv Singh he met as a roommate at Columbia University, launched the company after watching promising prototypes break in production, and later raised a combined $7.4 million in seed and pre-seed funding led in the seed by Insight Partners.
Columbia roommates into production AI
In an AlleyWatch interview Sharma said he and Singh talked about starting a company while studying at Columbia. After graduation he built data and AI platforms at Templafy, while Singh worked at Microsoft including on an OpenAI Innovation team in the Office of the CTO. Their shared frustration was the gap between demos and systems teams could trust once agent workflows got multi-step and messy.
Evals tied to OpenTelemetry traces
HoneyHive's product pitch is a system of record for traces, prompts, tools, datasets, and evaluators across development and production. Sharma emphasizes building on OpenTelemetry so teams can keep their existing stack, and supporting multi-step agent pipelines rather than single LLM calls. The company offers SaaS plus single-tenant and on-prem options for enterprises that need the data to stay inside their own network.
On raising with enterprise proof
Sharma told AlleyWatch the seed came together in under three weeks after investors saw Fortune 100 design partners and sharp growth in logged requests. Looking ahead he said the team is pushing multi-turn agent simulations and broader enterprise deployments. His advice to other New York founders was blunt and customer-first: "Focus relentlessly on customer value and build something people truly want."
