After watching finance teams drown in legacy ERPs, Glasgow is building an AI-native ledger that high-growth companies can close on without NetSuite weight.
John Glasgow is founder and chief executive of Campfire, an AI-native ERP company in San Francisco, California. He spent more than a decade in finance roles before starting the company in 2023.
Working at Invoice2go
Glasgow worked in finance at firms including Fidelity and later joined Invoice2go after a manager from Adobe recruited him. Bill.com acquired Invoice2go for about $625 million in 2021, according to TechCrunch. That acquisition path showed him how painful mid-market accounting systems still were.
Launching Campfire After Y Combinator
He launched Campfire in 2023 after Y Combinator to replace 1990s-era ERP accounting with an LLM-powered system. “Within nine months of formation, we had customers [with] north of 100 employees ripping out NetSuite and putting in Campfire,” he told TechCrunch when Accel led a $35 million Series A in 2025.
Personal Life
Glasgow is based in San Francisco, California, with Campfire. Public interviews focus on finance operations and ERP migrations.
